Mission Statement
The Saginaw Valley State University Greek community strives to promote standards of excellence through leadership, involvement and service opportunities. We will provide enrichment in academics, scholarship, social interactions and athletics while embracing diversity and the values of each individual organization. The Saginaw Valley State University Greek community is committed to lifelong membership while empowering brotherhood and sisterhood in collaboration with the standards set by our educational institution.

Vision Statement
We, the members of the Saginaw Valley State University Greek community, aspire to grow in all areas, including chapter development and interaction with Saginaw Valley State University administration, other organizations and the local community. We will make every effort to better our university for all students through additional Greek sponsored events, scholarships and community service. We are devoted to creating a better Greek community by gaining resources from the university to establish Greek housing. We are committed to displaying positive Greek life and break stereotypes.
Governing Councils & Organizations
Interfraternity Council (IFC): Formally organized in 1910, is an association of collegiate men's fraternities.
National Pan-hellenic Council (NHPC): Founded in 1930, is an representative body governing national historically Black Greek Fraternity and Sorority organizations.
National Panhellenic Conference (NPC): Founded in 1902, is an umbrella organization for 26 (inter)national women's sororities, each of which is autonomous as a social Greek - letter society of college women and alumnae.
Local: A sorority or fraternity that is not (inter)national recognized yet still uphold the values and purpose as (inter)nationally recognized organizations.
